Starting A Business: Everything You Need To Know

Hi everyone. I'm Amanda Buck. I decided to create this website because it has been my dream for years to start my own business. I will eventually make this a reality after I have saved up enough money to where I feel comfortable making this leap. But for now, I've been busy learning everything I can about starting a business. I learn best when I teach, so I have decided to create this blog where I will create posts I hope will be useful to business owners and those who are looking to start a business. Now let's get down to business!

Is Your Aging Parent Having A Surgery And You Worry About Restroom Use At Home? What To Change In The Space Now

If your parent has recently had joint replacement or another type of surgery, and you aren't sure how they will recover and what their mobility will be like, there are some things you want to look into getting for their bathroom. You want them to be able to feel like they can do things on their own, and most importantly you want them to be safe. Here are some of the things you want to look into getting and installing in the bathroom so it's easy for them to use the facilities, shower and get ready whenever they need.

Walk-In Tub and Shower

You don't want your parent trying to step off a ledge or getting into something where they could slip or fall because there is a slant or a slope. Instead, get a walk in tub and shower that has the following features:

  • Easy-to-operate door
  • Seat for bathing and showering
  • Jets for massage and comfort
  • Removable shower head easy to reach

This way your parent can choose to go into the tub and sit and wait for it to fill up, or they can choose to sit and turn the shower head on and sit and shower.

Railing Near Toilet or Handle

You can choose to put a railing on the side wall where the toilet is if you think this will be best. If the space is tight and you think you could put the handle on the wall in front of the toilet, this will work as well. Pick the place where it will be easiest for your parent to utilize it, without having a risk of not being able to reach the handle. Have them practice before you place it.

Automatic Dispensers

You don't want your parent fumbling around for things when they are getting ready and using their walker or trying to sit on a seat. You can get hand soap, lotion, toothpaste, and other things dispensed from a small automatic dispenser that sits on the vanity or hangs on the wall. This also prevents messes.

If you are worried about how your parent will do after their upcoming surgery, and you want to make sure that they can use the restroom and be safe without worries, these are some of the changes that you want to make. Look into the features you want, get estimates for the materials and labor, and start making the changes.
